I have many amazing heros in my life but if I had to choose one of them it would be Mrs.York. You are probably thinking why? Well most students get a different teacher each grade but for me I got Mrs.York for 2 wonderful years. Once I got into the classroom on my first year I knew it was the right fit for me. You see, I wasn’t getting good grades in third grade but Mrs.York always encouraged me to try harder. She would always figure out strategies to make me learn better. Mrs.York cares for her students so much that she would basically try anything until you got it. She made learning so easy for everyone because if you needed help after she taught the lesson, for example math, she would do the fist of five, if you had a one that would mean you needed help. There would always be a small group of students who didn’t get the lesson. She would go over it again until you got it. If you still didn’t get it Mrs.York would just say to don’t worry about it and not to get stressed. Since that day I have been getting better grades like getting all A’s and B’s! …show more content…
I was at Disneyland when I got the email saying that I got into Mrs.York’s class again. My mom and I knew that it was the right fit since my first year with Mrs.York was great. During this year Mrs.York and I got to know eachother better. She would tell stories to the class and treat us like we were family too. She made sure that we were all safe. This year I was better than ever with grades. First trimester I got all A’s, B’s, but one C. Second Trimester I either got the same or I got all A’s and B’s. But the thirst trimester I was closer than ever to be getting all A’s. I had all A’s but one B. That third trimester I knew she was the teacher I needed next year because I was doing my best with her. I have improved so much that I wanted everyone to have her as a teacher. On the last day of school in 5th grade, I knew I wanted to be like Mrs.York and help other students get their dream

I remember my uncle taking my cousins and I to Duns River Falls in Jamaica. At the bottom of the falls he took me from the shallow ends to the deep end, a good area where my head remained above the water if I stood on my tippy toes. My uncle laid his arms underneath me and taught me to relax and float. From time to time he would slowly remove his arms, allowing me to float without his support. I would freak out when I realized that his arms where no longer there holding me.…

An example of “Hero to Humble” would be during the event of September 11th, in 2001 the fire fighters showed the world how humble and dedicated they were to our country. These firefighters were so selfless while running into the twin towers to save lives of others and putting others in front of themselves. Firefighters are taking a risk at life every day. Yes, I believe every leader should have humility everyone is human and it is okay to not always be right in a situation. I think it is good if you are a leader and can put others before yourself and not always have the attention on yourself.…

These are people and animals that candles will never be blown out. These people are special because they standed up or protected the things and people they believe in and when someone disagreed with what they were doing or what they did they stayed true to themselves and continued what they were doing know if they were blown out (died or sent to jail) there candle will keep going for everyone else to hold. So, I think Aung San Suu Kyi, Malala Yousafzai, and Jeffrey Sachs should be inducted into the hero hall of fame.…

Mrs. Latta was my 8th grade English Teacher. She was a wonderful teacher, but an even more significant example of character. She had been teaching for almost 30 years when I had her my 8th grade year. Some teachers seem to lose interest and focus when they reach the age where retirement is right around the corner, but that was not the case with Mrs. Latta. She was the type of person who set goals for herself.…
