The head to toe assessment serves as a foundation to nursing, providing insight into a patient's mental, physical, and social health. This assessment allows a nurse to gather information on his or her patient, while instigating a honest and trusting patient-provider relationship. During my video validation this week, it sanctioned me to demonstrate my health assessment skills, while acquiring exerperience. The cue identifier for my head to toe assessment stood as gas exchange/patient cough, which required a focused pulmonary assessment. Overall, I would state that the assessment went well, but I could definently improve my skills.
