I was born on February 20th, 1998 in Greenville, South Carolina. My parents were new to parenting because they were twenty years old when I was born. Once I turned six weeks old, my parents went back to work so my great grandmother took care of me. I learned a lot from being at my great grandmother’s house because there were always older people around me. “You and your Papa Pete used to sit on the front porch and watch the cars go by. That’s how you learned your colors. He used to hold you and say ‘Now that’s a red car and don’t you ever forget it.’ And sure enough, you never did,” my great grandmother explained. My cousins also lived with my great grandmother. They were a few years older than me and I always tried to keep up with all of them. …show more content…
Growing up around boys made me love football, basketball, Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles and skateboarding. I loved skateboarding so much that when I was eight years old, I broke my femur bone skateboarding. I was in the hospital for three days before I was able to have surgery to put the metal plate in my leg. “The only thing you were worried about was getting home in time for Christmas. You were so upset and thought that Santa wouldn’t come visit you if you were in the hospital on Christmas,” my mom said. Although I came home in time for Christmas, that would not be the end of my leg …show more content…
I like the person I am becoming and I’m discovering that the person I am, is no longer someone I am ashamed to be. In these past three years of high school I have had my heart broken and filled many times. I have gone through the roughest of times and I have gone through the best of times. I’m ecstatic to see what God holds for me in the future and what he is calling me to do with my life after graduation. I am open to anything that may come if it’s for God’s glory because to me, in the end, that is how I will know I have lived a life full of

I was 13 years old, just starting off high school, when I realized what this dark cloud that’s been floating over me for the past couple of months really is. It wouldn’t be until more than a year later until I seek out professional help. It started off innocently enough as just a feeling of constant emptiness at the pit of my stomach. It slowly turned into randoms bouts of extreme rage, where I’d take out my anger physically, not just on the walls and mirrors of my childhood home and not just on my family, but on myself. I couldn’t understand why I felt this way, why I wasn’t “normal”.…
