Having a high school diploma does not mean for me to stop here. Why wouldn’t I want to further my education and become whatever I desire? A statement that’s been stated forever is, “College is not for everybody”, which is known to be true; however, it is highly important for me to attend college. My grandmother’s death inspired me because I took care of her at a young age and enjoyed every moment of it. Even though taking care of my grandmother inspired me but, my mother’s health issues has taken a tremendous toll on me as well. In today’s society, young ladies are making several mistakes, but the one excuse that some young ladies uses not to further their education is raising a child. Being in college is an obstacle course, but if I stay focused and try my best not to give up, I know that my perseverance and dedication will pay off in the long run. Before my grandmother passed away from cancer, at the age of 4, not knowing how to read or write well, I was taking beneficial care of her. I was given instructions on what to do for my grandmother such as: making sure she got plenty of rest, heated her food in the microwave, and took peoples phone calls without writing their name and number considering I remembered whatever that I was told. Since I couldn’t tell time, I knew when to give my grandmother her medications based on the sequence of her favorite television shows. My grandmother would brag about me to numerous amounts of people on how I was her little nurse…
