My Grandmother Told Me to Tell You She’s Sorry has a twist of fantasy with the Land of Almost Awake. I personally am not a fan of fantasy, but I enjoyed this book. Backman did a great job balancing out the fantasy to just fictional. There wasn’t too much fantasy, but there also wasn’t too much only fiction that the fantasy had no place in the book. This book reminds me of a book I read in 5th grade (I can’t remember the title), it was along the same lines of this book with the letters, but there was no fantasy twist. It was about a little girl who was receiving letters from an anonymous person.
