My Grade Point Average

Decent Essays
With a Grade Point Average, or GPA, of 4.0 in my Fall semester, an overall GPA of 3.8, and a SAT score of 1310, I believe my grades are relatively good. Each college student knows what it is like to constantly worry whether or not the score on the ACT is high enough to get accepted into a school or if certain AP credits will transfer to the school of choice. It’s my junior year of high school, and I had just begun looking at colleges and universities I believed would suit me personally and educationally. Each school was severely critiqued on certain elements they had to offer, such as, majors/minors, clubs and organizations, pre-professional programs, and even extracurricular activities. This was going to be the place I would ultimately spend the next four years of my life, so I needed to make the perfect decision.…

Unlike many of my peers, my life story is slightly different. Many of my peers share the story of living in a single parent home, being homeless, violence, and poverty. However, in my case, living in a two parent household is strange to hear about to my peers. For me, living in a two parent household means more work because of my desire to receive a full scholarship. Upon my research, I noticed that many of my older peers would receive better college financial opportunities because of their life experiences.…

At the end of high school my GPA was a 3.6 and although my SAT scores were in the 2300s, I feel like what really got me into all the schools I wanted to was my personal statement. I wrote about life as a hispanic and how hard it is to be discriminated in everything you do, and also about some tragic events in my life. I saw better qualified students get rejected as all my acceptance letters came in the mail. Seeing better qualified people not make it into Berkley made me feel like I did not deserve the opportunity given to me.…
