This captures my intended aim: to develop my own global clothing brand, one with philanthropic work at its core. This desire dates back to my youth. I collected, revamped, and then sold old t-shirts on my driveway, and then donated the proceeds to my church for the impoverished. That experience taught me not only that I wanted to be a creator, but that my goals would ring hollow if I were not able to make a substantial difference in the lives of others. I hope to make a woman feel as if they are beautiful and able to achieve their goals not matter what they may look like or are told by others. I hope to implant into the industry the importance of the individual and how they feel walking down the street rather than just looking the part. I know that FIT with their mission and goals, as they match up with my own, would take me to the next level and make a difference in the industry. Fashion is a form of expression in which we translate our artistic vision into what will ideally amount to an unforeseen, though palatable, artistic piece. It serves as the embodiment not only of our time, talent, effort, and determination, but of who we are as a person. I am interested in fashion because I seek to be a creator—and that is what I hope to be as an undergraduate student at Fashion Institute of
