I make sure that each action I do will impact my future in a positive way. My hope for the future is to have a family of my own. I hope to find a caring husband and to have children. I hope that I will be able to provide my children with the same experiences my parents gave to me. My goal for my future is to attend university. My paths for my future have not been entirely determined but my goal is to get a masters in business. The possible universities I have looked into are Laurier and Trent, but I am aware that as the time comes I will have to research more universities. My neighbor's daughter and her husband have helped me realize that a future in risk management or treasury might be the career for me. One of my many dreams is to travel the world and ski on different mountains. I am passionate about skiing and as soon as skiing season starts I will go every friday night. I have been to many resorts including some close by like Holiday Valley and Kissing Bridge, and some farther away like Montremblion. I normally get a seasons pass for Holiday Valley. My dream is that once I’m older I can go to Jackson’s Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming and be prepared to ski down some very steep and challenging

My Personal Goal Statement Every day I wake up, I ask myself how I can make a difference. This question has helped shape my personal values and principles and directed my path into the nursing field. Growing up in West Africa and witnessing firsthand the sufferings and impoverishment of the people around me, I developed a sense of compassion and willingness to make a difference and help alleviate their sufferings and put a smile on their faces. Healthcare delivery and poverty are two major underlying factors in the challenges faced in Africa, thus, when I got an opportunity to come into the United States, it was my golden ticket to finally give back to the community and make a difference. This led me into the nursing field; I started out as a Certified Nurse Assistant.…

The main reason why I think that HACC is the best choice for me is because of the cost. The rates per credit are around $250 and that is for in-state residents. The total cost for a commuter would be around $13,750 for a student who is full time, which means they are taking 12 credits per term (Stager). This price of $13,750 includes the price of books, supplies, food, and transportation and it is an average price for all HACC students (HACC.edu). I think that I could easily cut some of the cost by trying to buy my books online for a cheaper price or even eating at home to save a lot of money.…

Motivation is simply the desire to do things, the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. My reason to do what I do is because of my family and my socioeconomic background. Being a first generation college student, the journey to becoming a college student wasn’t easy. I was born in the Bronx, New York, and being in that area I was exposed to different things. I saw drug deals happen on my block, I saw drug addicts walking around the neighborhood, teenagers robbing other teenagers because of what they had on.…

Sophomore year of high school, I began planning my future. It was a bit early, but one can never be too prepared. My family was invested in me following the traditional path of receiving a state university degree and then settling down to a stable and unexciting career. Since they offered to help finance this future, I put aside my dreams of traveling the world and tried to figure out an approach to satisfy both my parents' plans and my dreams. Quite a few panic attacks and bouts of existentialism later…

Einstein once said, “If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.” I look at this quote as inspiration as to what it would take for me to consider my life successful in 30 years. I think what Einstein is trying to say is that life is too short to worry about what others think and constantly be trying to accumulate better “stuff”. To be truly happy one needs to look at all of what life has to offer and decided what they want out of it and not what others tell them they want. Personally, I view life as a series of experiences, some good some bad, but I view all these experiences as new opportunities to learn and grow.…
