He did not start out wanting to teach. He started out taking pre psychology classes thinking he was going to be a psychologist or psycirchest. However, once he got into biology classes, he realized that he enjoyed it a lot, and decided to change his major to biology. He likes telling that story to students because He believes a lot of students start undergrad and have to commit to a major right away, and he changed his major when he was a junior. Before he did that, he talked to a guy for reassurance who did that same thing he was about to do, and that guy started out as pre enginerding, then his junior year switched to pre law, and is now a very successful lawyer. That gave him the freedom and courage to go ahead and change his major and not be stressed out for doing so. A lot of freshman, or undergraduate students, are very pressured to know what their major has to be right away. Even in the seventh grade I felt like I needed to know what exactly I wanted to be, and how at that young of an age. Luckily for me, I found my dream career then and have not changed my mind once about it. However, it is not that simple for everybody. And he is living proof that there is room, and time, for change and you can still make it and be successful. Students come to him with different learning abilities, and at different levels.
