Personal Narrative: My Goal For Myself

This semester, I set up a goal for myself: I would do one thirty-minute work-out video everyday for at least five days of each week. My process of motivation towards beneficial activity entails complying with these three new principles I have laid out for myself to adhere to. When asked to define myself in one paper, I find it hard to show the details that I want to in the right light. When asked about my future after high school, I also have a hard time describing everything I want to get done because there are far too many things to name. The quote “ _____” (i want to be everyone and do everything and there isn’t enough life to do it all in) describes me to a tee, and I believe this college is the place I could do this in. Being a shy person for most of my life, many things were difficult for me. Specifically, last summer I had the opportunity for a summer job.…

Being on my high school football team, the honor roll, and in Teen Leadership are all accomplishments I am very proud of. Being able to stay focused and determined helped me to reach these accomplishments. When I set a goal for myself, as I did with those accomplishments, I have to achieve the goal because I don’t like to fail; it is something that I can’t and won’t accept. For three weeks, my self-change goal was to run everyday for 30 minutes. The reason I chose this goal was to form a habit of consistent exercise in my life. The main barriers to the successful application of the goal were college classes I attended at night. However, after rearranging my running schedule, the barriers were overcome. During the total course of the project, the first week presented the most difficulty because of my amateur ability to sustain running for long periods of time.…
