In life we have many choices, and the choices we make affect our everyday life. The decision to attend college is a big one in a person’s life. In today’s economy a high school diploma will not get a person a respected career. Many jobs require a minimum of an Associate’s Degree. So when a person is deciding on a college, many factors are involved: whether you are going to stay local, move away to attend college in another state, or which college offers the best program for your career choice. Also if you will be attending a two-year or four-year college, public or private, or a church affiliated college.…

I never had any doubt about going. The only thing that has changed over the years is the type of career that I 've wanted to acquire. When I was younger I wanted to be a veterinarian, then a paleontologist, also a forensic anthropologist, and finally a doctor. But with all of these careers I knew that I had to go to college. Also my friend Joe and I would talk about the colleges we are going to and the majors we will take up. To me, college does feel like an extension of high school, almost like a grade 13. Instead of a place to further my education in a field that I enjoy. So far attending The University of Akron Ohio 's Polytechnic University has been a let down. I don 't feel as if I 'm experiencing that college experience. But I don 't know if it 's my fought or the schools and I have no friends here. Money is also a prominent feature in which college you attend. I believed that if I worked hard, then I would get into a college that I would enjoy. But I was wrong. I tried so hard my senior year to keep my grades high. I joined clubs to seem diverse, and went to class on time. But all in vain. I wanted to go to Xavier University as you know Kyle, and that 's all I would talk about. I did all of the necessary steps to insure my dorm, classes, and the school requirements. Everything was set in stone I had my biology classes schedule and my dorm ready, but one thing was missing. That was the money. Xavier gave me over $30,000 in scholarships and financial aid. Even that wasn 't enough. So after abandoning that college I decided on The University of Akron Ohio 's Polytechnic University. Now that I am here they placed me into intermediate algebra, even though I had a 23 in math on the ACT. While you only need a 21 in math on the ACT to place into college algebra. Now because of this I have to attend summer classes to graduate on time and…

I knew college was going to be a challenge for me, I had to give up my free time, and become more serious about school. The most important key to success throughout college is having motivation. As I began the first year of college it was very tough because I was taking thirteen credits. Which I had no clue what was I thinking after a week I began to have a lot of homework and I started to stress out. Also, I began to fall behind in the homework, I had no choice but to rush into the homework without knowing anything. I notice that by rushing my homework it will affect my grades, which it did. It was a challenge for me because I had gotten bad grades and I had to decide whether I wanted to stay in the school or to drop out. I had to make a choice for myself to succeed in school or become a failure in life, so I motivated myself and I decided to give it my all in school.…

I personally feel success is the reaching of a single goal: true, unquestionable happiness. This self-content and in turn, "successful life" can only be met by pursuing one's passions, maintaining healthy relationships, and above all, putting self-approval over the approval of others. Throughout my life, I have been asked what I want to be when I grow up, whether an engineer, a writer to a lawyer. As one may expect, my answer differed each time. It was not until this year, though, that I analyzed this question in terms of what I'd actually enjoy doing for the entirety of my adulthood. Through this perspective, I was able to come to the conclusion that if there's one thing I have as much skill as I have a love for, it's medicine and no matter the salary, there's nothing I'd rather be payed to do. Not only do I view this realization as a successful point in my life, but I intend to put in all the hard work necessary to pursue this passion and further fulfill my own definition of success. While success may be something you acquire as an individual, I also personally believe all those that play a role in your daily routine affect this accomplishment. There is no doubt in my mind that I would not be the person I am today if I hadn't received the guidance, love, and support given to me by my parents. I owe any…

It was not until after my high school graduation that I decided to check out what college looked like for my potential. I was notified by mail of potential academic and athletic scholarships that were available, if I decided to take up the opportunity of attending college. My college experience helped me to develop personally, professionally, and academically. I will never forget the professors that believed in my potential to succeed and…

Being a successful college student will give you the skill and intelligence needed to live a successful life. I think success in life is something we crave naturally as humans. Success relies on how bad you are willing to work for it. I believe that success in college is determined by who the student is and if they are attending college for the right reasons. Some say college has a bad reputation as a place to go to party, go out on your own, and finally have no rules. For more matured young adults that is not the case. While attending college is the perfect time to become more independent and grow as a person it is also a very important chapter in your life and you should try to stay focused.
