After taking seven different self-assessments over the course of ten weeks, I have come to find that I have a lot of strengths and weaknesses when it comes to organizational behavior. The seven assessments include: my previous knowledge of organizational behavior, age preference, emotional intelligence, decision making, how creative I am, team building, and finally which organizational culture is right for me. After completing each of these assessment, and after reading each section in the book, I have come to find my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to organizational behavior. The first self-assessment was simply to see how much I knew about organizational behavior. After taking the assessment, I didn’t know as much as I thought I …show more content…
Because I have been involved in so many athletic programs and performing arts programs, I believe myself to be a strong team leader and builder. I do, however, lack in the vocal department and have a hard time speaking up. I have been told that I am a leader by example, but I feel that in any organization, I am going to have to learn to speak up and be vocal. Finally, our last self-assessment was assessing which organizational culture is right for me. I found that I am more comfortable in a setting that is rule-oriented and structured. I have been told that I handle chaos well, but I tend to enjoy having things written out for me. After taking all of these self-assessments, I have been able to create an action plan and a set of goals that I hope to accomplish over the next couple of years. I hope to be an employee that any manager or other employee can feel comfortable enough to trust me with any important task. I want to be an effective team-member that works hard to get any job done quickly and effectively. I also want to be able to continue my ability to work well with others. Now I enjoy working with others as long as they are willing to do the same amount of work and not just rely on me to get the job done. I hope to not let this bother me if I am ever partnered with someone that isn’t willing to do the work. If this is the case, I will work even harder to get twice the work done. If I am ever

Mike- Below is a draft email that may be utilized by Phil to invite respondents to complete the 360 assessment. While this is a boiler template (virtually identical to what was used by Don Ritter), personalization by Phil is recommended. You will also find a draft of suggested respondent groups that might be utilized for the 360. We will need to get an answer from Profiles as to the feasibility of breaking out the two “other” respondent groups into separate reports. I am reaching out to multiple contact in Profiles to get a determination on this.…

Hi, Post 2 - Writing a Self-Assessment I thought it was important to understand what a self-assessment is and how to write one. A self-assessment is the process of looking at oneself in order to assess aspects that are important to one's identity. It is one of the motives that drive self-evaluation, along with self-verifcation and self-enhancement. A self-assessment will prompt people to seek information to confirm their uncertain self-concept rather than their certain self-concept and at the same time people use self-assessment to enhance their certainty of their own self-knowledge. I have learned many things from the McGraw-Hill Connect Self-Assessment that will help me be a better employee, coworker, and or manager. I have to understand that there are people within the office that potentially may or will have differing personality characteristics than mine. By understanding and recognizing these differences I will be better suited to work with anyone in my organization. I tend to work well with anyone regardless, however I will be able to see what motivates my coworkers. If I am in a management role or the person in charge of a project I will be able to use personality differences to my advantage to where I can place employees where they are the strongest in order to help with team dynamics when we are forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning.…

Self reflection practices has been a integral part of my life in personal growth by learning about myself and prioritizing what I consider important. In my mid-thirties, I had a strong intuitive feeling that I was not living a fulfilling and purposeful life in accordance with my personal values. During this time I was working as an inbound customer service representative in a call center for a promotional product manufacturer. I had spent over ten years working as a customer service representative for various companies and never felt that this career path was in alignment with my life's purpose.…
