There are numerous difficulties that I am sure to encounter as I work toward my goal of earning my degree in nursing. My son has Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome which results in him being sick and having seizures frequently. As soon as my son gets sick he has seizures. Therefore, unless someone is CPR certified, I don’t allow anyone to watch him. Child care for my son will be one of the biggest complications I will face. With that being said, I will miss many classes and it will also be a set-back. Due to child care and situations with my son’s father I will obviously be absent in several classes. My struggles may be slightly unique considering I am a teen mom, a college student, and a special needs mother. My main goal is to stay focused and to do all I can possibly do to succeed in earning my nursing degree. I am most definitely not the average teenage mother and I refuse to be labeled as another teenage mother statistic. In other words, my motivation to do well is to prove a point to my family, friends and anyone with whom I have ever had contact with. I had a child at 14 years old, nevertheless I will still succeed in accomplishing my goals. I anticipate to face a lot of unexpected difficulties, but I will constantly overcome them. Likewise, I always have a back-up plan. Of course, plans usually do not work out as intended. However, I intend to overcome whatever the struggle may be that I am facing that specific day. I may miss a few classes, but continuously ensuring that my work is complete and my exams are studied for will assist me in making my dreams a reality.
