Being a dentist to me is more than just fixing teeth, but serving others for many different reasons. It is through the volunteering at dental offices that I have experienced the distinct health care need, but more generally made me think about what I have to give to people around me, as well as what does the world need. To begin, I have been able to see what I have through a comparison of my current location. One thing I have to give to others is my education. By knowing that I was gifted with the determination to follow though with goals that I have set, I can give back to people with what I accomplish. I do not want to waste the education that I have given myself, nor the time I have spend working towards my goals. Besides just my education to give, I can also give my time. Hopefully, one day I will become a dentist and can volunteer at places for the under privileged. My experience volunteering at the Holland Free Health Clinic opened my eyes to doing free dental work as a part time experience after I practice for a while. Just doing the grunt work of the clinic made
