My Fitness Goals For Fitness

Equally important, running is valuable since it can alleviate stress, strengthens ones lungs, and contributes to weight control. Fitness and Goal Setting Knowledge Fitness and goal setting have been the main topic of conversation in this class. Whether we need to work on legs or arms today, or what we are going to do in the future. Obesity is a global epidemic (Garrett, p. 172, 2011). Defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more, obesity has increased by 145 percent between 1980 and 2013 (Stelter, p. 1, 2015). Although many people contribute this to laziness, there is a plethora of reasons contributing to the rising obesity rate (S. Thomas, p. 2, 2008). Socioeconomic status, lack of sleep, leading a sedentary lifestyle (Stelter, p. 1, 2014), personality traits, depression, drug use, food addiction, and genetic factors are a handful of elements that affect one’s odds at becoming obese (Zhang, p. 5154, 2014). In general, what I have learned through my life experiences exercise may not be a priority for the majority of people. Children and teenagers should be getting daily exercise; there are no excuses for them to lead a sedentary life. Young adults in their twenties are usually focused on themselves and their appearance drives them; therefore, the majority achieves their exercise goals. Exercise will probably not be a priority for new parents trying to adjust to the changes they are experiencing now and will continue to experience for the next eighteen years. In fact, I organized an exercise program that has no financial cost and the majority of the exercises are achievable indoors using my own body weight.
