Did you ever sit back wondering who you really were? After my first year of college I really found out who I was and what I wanted to do with my life. During my senior year of high school, the only thing I worried about was sports, I played three sports and barely worried about my grades. After realizing I won’t make a living off of playing sports, I concentrated on finding a college that fit my lifestyle and had my major. Playing sports made me the girl I am today, it showed me that it’s not about the game, it’s about the friendships you make. My Junior year I became close with our Athletic Trainer and after shadowing her and having her help me, I fell in love with her job and it made me realize that by being an Athletic Training I’ll be around …show more content…
Once I visited Lebanon Valley College I knew it was the one for me, it felt like home, had my major, my close friends were attending there, and also being a family person its only thirty minutes away from my house. Also being a small division three college is I can play softball while getting a good education. After my first couple weeks of school, I struggled with being homesick, but now I actually like coming back to college after being home for a weekend. I was worried about making new friends, but playing softball really helped me, we are all so close already and it’s only the off season. I found out that I couldn’t really slack in college when I got my first exam back, I realized I had to take it more seriously and actually study. I had to figure out a schedule, which at first was difficult, but now I have it down, especially with softball, I figured out how to balance my athletics with my academics. Some days I ask myself why I went to college, but then I sit back and think, I need this for my future, I want to do what I love, so therefore I need to work hard to get …show more content…
I always didn’t believe people when they said college was stressful, but once I got about two weeks into my first semester stress hit me really bad. Trying to deal with all of my classes and softball, started to become a lot to handle, but I’m doing better, because I keep up with my schedule and finishing assignments before there due dates. I made some close friends already and we are only one semester in, I can’t wait to make more. I believe as we reach the end of the semester I can successfully say that I became better with time management, homesickness, and just overall everything that college through at me. The major obstacle I crossed was dealing with stress, some days I wanted to give up, but then I realize that some kids don’t get this opportunity and I had to push through it. Having my two best friends from high school at college really helps, because we always get together and help one another with work and it relives my stress. Also working out for softball, being in the weight room relaxes me, so I love going to workouts just to clear my
