My Chihu The Greatest Tragedy Of My Life

Improved Essays
My first year of college, I experienced the greatest tragedy of my life. Some may say she was just a dog, but to me, she was my best friend. My Chihuahua, Tiny. I received this dog as a gift on my second birthday. At which point, she would fit in my father’s work pocket and pester me throughout her “puppy stage.” Over the years, Tiny grew into a best friend, more so than a pet. However, much of this changed when we found out she had a fatty benign tumor. 1.) At the age of 13 in 2013, Tiny was diagnosed with a tumor on the inferior, anterior side of her body. It was very small and moved fairly easily. Thankfully, the vet techs at Town and Country were able to confirm that this was just a fatty benign tumor. Which is really wonderful news when it could have just as well been cancer. We were informed to keep an eye on it but more than likely it would never turn into anything. As the years passed, she would …show more content…
She would play outside in the snow or run through the holiday gift wrap scatter throughout the house after our Christmas gifts were open. She was loving and playful, seemingly understanding of the events occurring. She never failed to make us laugh, especially when she would steal our candy and somehow get it out of the wrapper for her own consumption. It was not uncommon to see her walk across the living room with chocolate, gum, a sucker, or anything else my siblings would leave available on their nightstand. However, in August of 2015, things took a turn for the worse. 2.) By September of 2015, I had began my first year of college and was working long hours at Jack Bradley Insurance Agency. This was taking up a majority of my time. However, one day I came home for lunch and realized the fatty tumor on my dog had grown at least two times larger than before and

It all began in the Fall of 2012, my dog, Wrinkles got sick and though she got sick a few times per year, but this seemed different. I never understood why her breed of dog had such a tendency of getting sick with what is currently known as “Shar-Pei fever,” but after a little bit of researcth I realized it was bound to happen to her, and any dog of the Shar-Pei breed we could have adopted after her. Veterinarians had no idea how to cure or even how to fight the disease, and at this point in her life, it meant certain death. Once I found this out, it felt as though my life was over. I still had hope that she would be cured and go back to the playful pup she was just months earlier.…

Shari Olges's Footsteps in Life Most of the time, individuality is a trait that one must learn because they already have the ability to open up to others, but for a specific individual, individuality is a trait that comes naturally. On September 26th 2015, I interviewed Shari Olges, my mother, in her living room. We conducted the interview on two separate couches, which was clever of her due to the small size of these couches, in which I sat on the couch closest to a window bursting with light. Mrs. Olges sat on a couch that was slightly longer and enveloped some space used to enter her vast kitchen.…

People embed their faith into their objects. As I get ready for bed, I always look forward to cuddling up to my aged and raggedy pillow. Officially known as Chira, my fluffy and pure pillow, with a cute image of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, has worn down over the years; now what remains is a rag-like-cloth with tears and holes. Although Chira has basically disintegrated, there is nothing else I have been able to hold on to, for as long as I managed to keep it. Losing Chira right now would be like losing a dear family member.…

According to the American Cancer society, stomach cells form glands “to make enzymes and acid that digest the food, as well as mucus that helps protect the stomach lining.” If cancer develops, they do not form the glands that they should that are abnormal or distorted, or even clumps that don’t look like a gland at all. Additionally, the American Cancer Society also says that cancer cells invade other tissues, rather than staying within their tissue. It was evident that the other patient did not have cancer because the cells in the tissues were organized into rows. According to Lynne Eldridge, “Normal cells secrete substances that make them stick together in a group,” which is how they appear to be managed into neat columns.…

Nearly 15 years ago, I was in the first grade being asked to draw the person I imagined myself to be when I grew up. My picture portrayed me and several different types of animals at a veterinary clinic with the explanation stating, “When I grow up, I want to be a vet because I want to help animals.” I grew up an only-child and was devoted to all types of animals as if they were part of my family. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a vet. As a child, I would pretend to do surgery by stitching together holes in my stuffed animals.…
