My First Trip to New York City I was too tired. We’ve waited five hours at the airport, we’ve landed at ten p.m. My legs and eyes were droopy, I felt like I could drop to the ground any minute. My dad was carrying my sister, who was already asleep and my mother was carrying my brother who is just a couple months old. I look back at my parent’s friends who also joined on the trip. They also looked exhausted. The only thing on my mind was to go in our hotel, jump on the bed and that’s it. This is the life in New York City. I was just eight years old and knew these were the only things you need in the city. I closed my eyes and spun around, smelling the air. It was wet and misty, my favorite type of weather. When I’m excited or nervous my mom braids my hair so it’ll be out of my way. I reenact famous walking in the movies, my parents laughing at my sudden change. Cafe shops, toy stores are what catches my eye and leaves me breathless. Bright televisions and signs are trying to get your attention. People walking, cars honking, instruments playing, people yelling offers, this is the music of the city. I had no idea what that store was but once I got inside, I almost passed-out. There in the front of the store was a huge ferris well that said Toys R Us. Once we got a ride on the ferris wheel we explored the store. I looked up and saw five sections of the store. There was rows and rows and rows of toys, this was a dream come true. My parent’s friend, who I consider as my Aunt told me, “Pick out any toy girls and a toy for your brother and we’ll buy it.” I was ecstatic, we could get any toy that we want. I looked through all the stalls, looking for a toy you will buy is harder than it looks. I finally found it, it was a model helicopter that you can control it’s flying.
