My first thought coming to University of Pittsburgh was, “I traveled nearly 8 hours away from home and I probably won’t like this school”. When we arrived at the school it was so terrible in my opinion, because we rode around trying to find what building the event was supposed to be in; it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Even before entering the building I knew that there were going to be a ton of people there and even though I was nervous and apprehensive I proceeded onto the Open House. Even though the buildings were nice it just seemed like a city within itself and we were just tiny fraction of the city. The first thing we saw on the tour were the dorm rooms and just like any other college the dorm room was just traditional, nothing too exciting about it but further on during our tour we found out that sororities and fraternities live in housing separate from the rest of the class. Then, we got to see where the auditorium, used for smaller classes. While our tour guide was walking us through the auditorium she explain to us that teachers use the day after the lesson to split the class into smaller groups for a more personalized feel to make sure the students understand what they just learned. Honestly, it just seemed like the students that were in the lounge area outside of the auditorium were paid to be there and they seemed a bit too fake for my preference. But soon after, the tour guide expressed how they are involved in many community events and most professors live on campus. One thing I did not like was that there was an”upper” part of campus, and a “lower” part of campus. On the upper part of Campus it was the sports stadiums, Veterans medical center, a mental hospital and various townhouses. I personally do not feel that this is a good fit for me to pick for an undergraduate
