My First Seven 50

I choose to compare my seven fifty that I wrote. I am looking at the first seven fifty I wrote for this class and the last seven fifty I wrote for this class. I remember in the beginning that I was a little nervous about doing these, but as the year went on I got the hang of it and got faster on doing them. One of the first things I notice I did in my first seven fifty is that when I was answering the question I did not state the questions. I just referred it to what ever number it was on the Moodle page. In my last seven fifty I wrote and I stated the the question then I answer the question after I stated it. I also think that my first seven fifty was a more of a formal paper than my last seven fifty where I was just writing about what I knew and learn from class, and my opinion on the topic. In my second seven fifty I also notice how I talk about all the questions that we were asked to answered and I did not answer all the questions that we were asked in the first seven fifties. I wrote more in my last seven fifty compare to my first seven fifty. I also think I can explain what I am thinking more in my last seven fifty that I turned compare to my first seven fifty that I turned in.

I think this not just because of the length of my paper, but because of my answering the questions instead of avoiding questions. Most likely this is because we have learned so much as the year went on so I had more of a background on the subject. I think that I can write more and easier because I have an easier time writing about my opinion as the year went on. I think while I wrote my 750 I changed my format. I think by me changing my format I can write clearly on what question I was talking about and easier to answer the questions that was being

The Grade I Should Get in ESL 203 In ESL 203 I should get a grade A, which is the highest grade of the course. Wilmington University offers the course “English as a Second Language: Advanced Grammar and Writing” (ESL 203), which is designed for international students to “learn about the writing process, features of specific essay types, developing content, and expressing themselves in comprehensible and grammatical language” (Wilmington University, 2016a). Even though it does not feel as though I have improved much, I know that the grades on my essays say differently. After looking over my essays, I noticed that I have become better with using evidence to support my papers. This, to me, is my best accomplishment. I have also improved on my word choice, organization, and how I use my quotes. If you were to compare the first paper I wrote to the last paper I wrote, I feel as though it would be obvious on how much my organization has improved.…

My writing has changed; it is easier to write a couple pages and the not be so afraid of writing papers. This is because of the amount I’ve been writing for the class, and how comfortable I was to be able to speak my mind to you. These two pages didn’t faze me. I’ve started not caring so much about what others think about my papers and caring more about how I feel about my papers, as long as I feel like I’ve done a decent job with my paper I feel accomplished enough to turn them in and hope for the best.…

During this time I was having trouble on writing a top level high school paper like a lot of the other students in my class. Looking back on this you could tell that eventually my lack of writing skills would catch up to me and it happened. When I completed the required class over the summer I felt more confident in my writing skills than ever before. I remember our first essay for english III and feeling nervous because it was my first graded essay since taking the class. Once I completed it I remember feeling confident in my work, which is something I really have not felt when writing a paper for a while.…

Throughout the first semester of College Composition, I wrestled with three essays, all differing in format and content. The first was a narrative that reflected our educational experience. After this came an analysis of a visual text, followed by a research paper. The narrative was the easiest to write; however, I acquired important skills for writing the other two, which were in a less familiar format. With the three essays, I learned about my own writing skills and habits concerning development and critical thinking, time management, and organization.…

The thing that changed was I can now better expand on my thoughts. I can now also write papers faster because I learned about what works best for me and what my specific writing style is. For the first paper I revised it by re-reading the whole paper and as I saw certain sentences I changed the wording of the ones that stuck out to me as not sounding like the way I would articulate it currently. I also added in a few sentences that I though could add to the clarity of the paper. For my narrative I revised it by adding in extra details about my retreat that would give the reader a better understanding of my experience.…

Over the course of English 102, I have developed a new set of skills and learned to become a better writer. When I first came into English 102 I struggled with many different concepts of writing. During the semester in English 102, my writing became stronger because I learned how to incorporate evidence into my argument, do more thorough research, have smoother transitions, and have more organization throughout my essay. I learned how to peer review better and to take what others say and incorporate it into my essay. In the beginning, before English 102, I struggled with good organization and flow to an essay, sandwich evidence into paragraphs, and having strong arguments in persuasive essays.…

I am still not that good at it, but I noticed that I started thinking more about the choices I make when I write. For example, I began my summary of Thonney’s “Teaching the Conventions of Academic Discourse” with a point of view she disagrees: “Thonney points out that some scholars deny the idea that there are set rules to academic writing.” I thought this would be more effective than talking about her ideas, then bringing up the opposing opinion, and then coming back to Thonney’s thoughts again. I wanted the paragraph to have a strong structure because that way it is more effective and easier to understand. This is definitely an improvement.…

Over the course of this semester in my English 1320 class I have seen a drastic change throughout my writing style. Although I still have difficulties with a few writing tasks, I believe that I have improved significantly throughout this course. I have found that with my professor’s guidance along with my own personal editing that my grades have increased. Although it is difficult to not get caught up in simply striving for a letter grade or attaining a 4.0 grade point average, I would like to believe that my main goal was different. Of course I would love to achieve those goals as well, but overall my primary goal throughout this class was to become more relaxed and comfortable in my writings, to use new strategies and proper kinds of conventions, and to truly find a way to express my passion on these papers.…
