When I was ten years old, I decided to try something new. I was with my bestfriend, my cousin, and her boyfriend at Dollywood. It was the summer before fifth grade, so I wanted to try something adventurous. My cousin and her boyfriend were about to ride Thunderhead, and they were pressuring me to ride it too. They told me I need to ride a roller coaster before middle school and it would make me cool. Well I thought if anything could make me fit in more, I should do it. When we were standing in line, I was so nervous that I thought I could not ride it. The only motivation I had was trying to fit in and peer pressure. While I was stepping into the cart on the roller coaster, I think it was the most nervous I have ever been. My whole body shaking,

I had terrible butterflies in my stomach. Waiting in line felt like forever, but in all reality not much time had past.…

So this meant that my brother and sister got to sit in the very front of the roller coaster car, and my dad and I were right behind them. When we got in, it seemed like no time had passed from when we got in the line, to when we were seated in the ride getting ready for a moment that I would never forget. We waited for about 30 seconds for the workers to make sure everybody was strapped in safely. When the carts then started down this tiny slope to a straight away over the water. I was a mix of scared and excited for the ride.…

The origin of the roller coaster comes from Russia, in a particular area of what would later become St. Petersburg , where they sent sledders down 70-foot high slopes that were wood-framed ice slides. They have been doing this as early as the 16th century. The roller coasters were built out of wood with ice more than two but not a lot of inches thick covering the surface. There were stairs attached to the back of the slide that the riders climbed and then they sped down the fifty degree drop and climbed up the stairs of the slide that laid parallel and opposite to the first one.…

One ride I really liked was this enormous waterslide. I was really scared of this ride at first but going down was wonderful ultimately. Me and my Brother went on all of the rides and rollercoasters, but I am not a huge fan of rollercoasters like my brother is, but he convinced me to go on the roller coasters. The first roller coaster we went to had a lot of twist and turns and i was extremely scared, and I felt like the rollercoaster was going to fall of the track…

Six Flags Trying to keep a serious face while going downwards on a rollercoaster is seemingly difficult. The best part of the roller coaster ride is when it takes your picture when you’re on the ride. When I was about nine years old, my family was debating about going to Cedar Point the upcoming weekend. I hadn't rode many roller coasters in my life at that time because I was only nine. Of course, trying to be manly, I totally agreed with their decision. My parents told me how big the roller coasters are, and how the roller coasters are some of the biggest in the world. I acted like I wasn't scared, and was talking about how I didn't care about the size of the roller coasters.…

Roller coasters are a must see attraction in amusement parks around the world, even though they are a good source of entertainment not many are aware of how roller coasters actually function. Even though each and every roller coaster is unique all of them work under the same concept. Most roller coasters start out by ascending to a higher surface which is done to build up enough potential energy to power the carts throughout the entire ride. Energy is usually defined as the ability or capacity to perform work, there are many different types of energy all of which can be grouped into two groups: kinetic energy and potential energy.…

This was my first time ever going to Florida and I was really excited to go. But one of us had to stay home and take care of our pets, so my dad stayed home to take care of them. It took about half a day for us to get ready to go and like 4 or 5 hours until we were out of Michigan. My brothers and I would stay up all night to see how cool the city looked at night.…

When I was about six years old, my friends who were about 12 or 13 at the time invited me to the baseball field. The one bad part was that to get to the baseball field we had to cross a major road to get there, but at least there was a light. My parents told me I could only go if we were being driven, but I went anyway. It was scary crossing the street, mostly because we did not cross at the crosswalk. We were too lazy to walk down the neighborhood and cross at the light.…
