On Saturday September 6th, I asked my mother whether or not she had time to answer some questions I had for Senior Composition. Thankfully she did, so I asked her the ten questions that had to do with the things that influenced her, but also how she influenced me. My first question was”What/who influenced you to be who you are today, and how did that do so?” In which she replied with “ My mom, she taught me to be loving and caring towards others, and find a place in my heart to help those who are in need.”To be honest I wasn’t surprised with her answer because, My grandmother has always been a kind and generous person. Keeping other people happy was more important to her than keeping herself happy. Then I asked her to give me some examples of the things my grandmother …show more content…
But after I got involved with the church, I learned about all the things that people could do to help others. I woke up every morning with the thought of going out and doing things that would benefit those who need help. A Manifesto of the Civically Just by Evangeline Booth From a very young age, I felt not only compelled by my inner self, but also encouraged by the initiative displayed by my mother and father to stand strongly behind the causes I knew in my heart to be just. However, from years of focusing my efforts on accomplishing this, I slowly came to the realization that it was no longer sufficient to merely stand behind my passive, yet well-intentioned words. One is now required to take willful action to change a situation in favor of the morally correct.…

Despite the financial hardships, my mom took out loans from her place of work to pay the high-priced tuition of private high school where I would obtain the best education. After working for nine hours and preparing dinner for her family, my mother created time to assist me with homework and studying.…

One person has always had the power to make a difference in another’s life. Whether that be a family member teaching a little one kindness, or even on a bigger scale Martin Luther King Jr. leading a revolution to the acceptance of people with different colored skin. Even bad people can make a change for the good, like a school shooter who makes schools realize they need a plan in place for an attack on their students. One person can change the way others think entirely and can impact their lives in a major way. Lori Ann Heyden, my grandmother, had made a huge impact in my life.…

If you were to ask me about my high school writing experience, I would tell you that I did not have much experience. We did not have any classes at my school that were specifically writing classes. At my high school, we just had regular English classes where we would occasionally do a few papers in. My English teacher senior year was a great person, but did not necessarily teach us a lot about proper styles of writing papers. Coming into college English, I did not feel well prepared with what to expect for a college level writing class.…
