First memories of oneself can be easily confused with fabricated memories made by looking at old pictures, movies, and hearing stories related to one’s personal history. This is the case for me: I have seen so many home movies, heard so many stories, and seen so many pictures about my early childhood, I do not know for certain what is my first memory in actuality. Since I cannot pinpoint my first memory exactly, I will unfold a series of memories which were the earliest in my childhood.
In kindergarten, I recall the first time I lost a tooth. One of my fellow classmates, Shelby, had a loose tooth just as I did, but looser. As tears rolled down her face and she was barely able to mutter words, Shelby complained of the pain and asked to go to the nurse. After she left I waited, trying to play the system as well, and then asked the teacher to go to the nurse. Mrs. Falk, my teacher, asked me to come up and see her. Following the directions, I went up to her and she examined my tooth and then grabbed something beside her, I assume it was napkins. Before I could even react, she had grabbed my tooth and yanked it out. I remember it being very bloody so she instructed me to go rinse out my mouth and then return to class.
I learned to ride a bicycle quite early, though I do not remember the exact age. My grandfather helped me attain many skills as I grew up, this being one. I remember my first attempt to ride a bicycle without training wheels ending disastrously and comedic ally. Out…
