My First Dream : My Best Friend 's New Golden Retriever Puppy

From a young age I’ve always had dreams, goals, and things I wanted to accomplish. My very first dream started out at the age of 6 when I saw my best friend’s new golden retriever puppy and I decided right then and there that I just had to have one for myself. It become an obsession. That puppy was the only thing I could talk about, dream about, and I just knew that I couldn’t live my life without it. I would consistently beg my dad for that precious puppy and he would always give me the same answer. “No.” He would sweetly explain to me that our lives were too busy and I would have to wait until we could appropriately care for this animal. “Wait?” I don’t think my 6 year old self fully understood the concept of having to wait for this puppy that I wanted RIGHT NOW. As time went on and being the persistent person that I am, I did not let go of my dream of getting this sweet puppy and the anticipation was slowly building up to the point where my dad saw just how bad I truly wanted this. A few years later, we finally welcomed Jack into our family.

Sitting on your surfboard, looking out at the water ahead of you, you spot an oncoming wave. The perfect wave moves at a constant speed traveling approximately 7 miles per hour. I am constantly finding myself in a season of waiting. Waiting for my phone to charge. Waiting in line at the grocery store or for the slow driver in front of me on the freeway. I always find myself in a rush going from one thing to another…
