During Comp one, one of our big papers was an argumentative research paper. I had never written a research paper before, much less a argumentative paper before. Throughout the writing of this paper, I knew that to give my point of view, I also had to give the other side of the story. In this paper, I wrote about being against abortion. Giving the other side of the story was hard for me because I did not believe in abortion. Even Though it was hard, I turned out being pretty good at giving both sides. I also learned that my favorite type of writing is argumentative because I love giving my input, I love telling my side of the story. When reading or hearing the prompt I have to write about, I can never think of an outline, or an introduction to start my paper with. Once I finally can think of a topic to start writing about, I can go. For example, our second big paper was a research paper, and we had to write about a recent major disaster. I had no idea; nothing came to my mind on what to write about. It took me a total of two days to finally decide on a topic. I wrote about the effects of 9/11. After finally finding a topic to write about, I realized that writing this paper was not going to be as easy as I thought. There was a lot of research I had to look up and while reading the research, I discovered a lot of things my Uncle went through being in the army.
