A Personal Narrative Essay: My Best Friend

Decent Essays
Growing up, I seemed to make a lot of friends easily but not many of the friendships would last because I moved or we had different classes the next year. My first best friend was Anna; we met in first grade and were attached at the hip after the first day of meeting. Our friendship lasted for two years before I moved away and was forced to go to another school. In third grade, I made a new friend Kayla, and we were crazy and a handful.
Kayla and I created our own jokes and code words for everything. We spent a lot of time laughing at one another. I was so excited when my mom said we could have a sleepover because that meant I got to go home with Kayla on the bus. The holy grail of school was to ride home on someone else’s bus. The playlist consisted of so-called throwbacks meaning a ton of Brittney Spears. Traci sang along to every single song while holding her middle fingers on her temples thinking that’s what singers do. Which threw us into a laughing fit after I corrected her. We spent the day at the ski lodge taking breaks here and there. I used all of the energy I had by accomplishing seven runs which including three perfect runs.
Traci and I had plan for spring break since the beginning of the school year. We wanted to go to my lake house in Wisconsin so we could go snowboarding. It was until the week before spring break that we changed our minds completely and decided to go to Florida instead. We made plans to stay at my great aunt and uncles house in Lady Lake, Florida. Traci and I left at four in the morning on Saturday so we could get to Florida at a decent hour. The drive down was a total of 14 hours because we hit traffic of

The first beach we went to was Coco Beach it was a two hour drive that had the worlds largest Ron John Surf Shop. We brought everything we thought we would need; before we left we even put the top down on my jeep. Coco Beach was interesting to say the least, while the beach was nice the area surrounding it wasn’t.
We spent the whole day at the beach so long I had to buy myself an umbrella mostly because I refused to rent one for $20! Traci and I made friends at the end of the day two other girls: Kelly and Julie. All of us couldn’t help but watch the guys behind us trying to understand their choices with the girls they were with. Not to mention they were really drunk and rather sunburnt, it hurt to watch them!
To our pleasure they decided to come over to us where Traci told one of the guys to “take off your beer goggles!” The guy’s names were Jeff and Michael they didn’t mention their ages but you could tell they were older not from how they acted but the way they looked. An adult is some one who is responsible and knows when to stop drinking. Instead I think the complete opposite after our trip to

As a member of a club called "The Best Buddies Club", our role as a member of the club was to be assigned a buddy whom suffered physical disabilities for a large majority of their life. Throughout my experience I had met many kids around my age with certain disabilities, and with that I learned about the lives lived by each and everyone of them. A few told me sorrowful stories of a time they were bullied either physically or verbally. It brought great disappointment to humanity as a whole, those kids were one of the sweetest I've ever met. This led our group and I to spread awareness with a motto of "spread the word to end the word", directed at abolishing the use of the word "retard" or as we called it "the r-word".…
