First Day in College Without a doubt, every change is a challenge, and sometimes it is difficult to keep up with changes, but after a time they become part of life. Famous Winston Churchill once said: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” I relate to this quote because there were a time in my life that I wanted to quite college, because I was failing in my grades, but with the help from my family and friends I found a way to make best of my situation and become successful at it. I learned that failure is not fatal. Even though I prepared myself for college, I was nervous because I thought I had no friend or family there, and I did not know much about my major. Going to college and be away from family was not as easy as I thought, even though the college has been just one hour far from home. I prepared myself three years for college. I knew one day I will leave for college, but the reality was so different. I remember the day my parents left me, I remember the feeling, I was sad, because suddenly I was alone in my apartment. The next day I called my mom, and she came to stay with me for two or three days. I felt safe and loved when my mom came to stay with me, and that was the time that I never forget. Preparing for college could not keep me from being nervous about it.
