The first decision I would have to make when starting colony is to choose what kind of people I should bring that will contribute to the society. I would need to make sure we bring hammers, saws, and axes for the builders. The farmers would need shovels, picks, plows, animals, and seeds. Medicine, bandages, and other medical supplies are needed for the doctor. We would bring bibles for the pastor.
Location is also extremely important for healthy colony. The colony would need to be located near a freshwater source for irrigation and consumption purposes. The soil also must be fertile in order to grow good crops. Also the climate of the location shouldn’t be too harsh that it destroys crops, and makes living conditions unbearable.
The government of the colony would be similar the government of Connecticut, it would have religious freedoms and everyone would have the right to vote. If people are forced to do something they don’t believe in there will be animosity between the people and the government. This is why the church and state would be separate, but it would still be lead by biblical principles.
The way way colony would grow is by a combination of all the matters addressed earlier. Having a good foundation is essential for the growth of the colony, because a strong foundation can support almost anything.
