One of my first artifacts that I cherished and remember vividly was a German Shepherd stuffed animal. This stuffed animal was named Hot,which had a sister Golden Retreiver stuffed animal named Cold.My older sister had Cold, and at the time, being only about four years old,Hot and Cold sounded like perfect names. My sister and I took Hot and Cold everywhere together, even to places like the grocery store,Hot never left my side.Hot was so important to me because it was one of my first stuffed animlas out of hundreds more. Hot was also special to me because he was a gift from a family friend that always traveled and that we didn't always get to see.In conclusion Hot taught me how to be responsible with my things and that you can always keep people with you even when they are far away.
My second artifact was a rocking chair that my mom painted for my kindergarten teacher.During my kindergarten year I noticed that the teacher’s rocking chair was very bland compared to the rest of her room so my mom and I decided to paint it for her. This rocking chair is very important to me because my mom and I got to do it together, and I got to do it however I wanted, which was rainbows, clouds, and sparkles all over it.It is also important to me becasue I know that many kids got to enjoy it for years after whenever it was

There were several moves and vacations over the years, each one requiring my baby blanket to be by my side. My dad eventually refers to me as Linus from the Peanuts, always touting my blanket over my shoulder or cradled in my arms. I bring it to every “show and tell” at school, not to mention any naptimes that were offered in preschool. Sleep-overs and camping excursions just weren’t the same without my blanket in tow. It was a slice of home I could hold close to my heart when need be and throw to the side when I felt ready to explore the world around me.…

The M&M artifact shows the results of a project we did, which include four people opening up a bag of M&M's we picked separated the colors and found out the averages of each color. I created this spreadsheet using a google document, some of the tools I used consisted of gathering data and documenting the data we came up with. After that I color coded the M&M colors by filling in the background and also created a pie chart to show the data we gathered. I could use a project like this in several different occasions in my class any project I do with my students I could have them incorporate a pie chart and collecting data is something we will be doing throughout our school year. "It 's a Beautiful Thing": Art, Culture, History and Humanity in George Orwell 's 1984 In 1984 George Orwell pulls readers into his horrific and at the same time awe- inspiring totalitarian society, dictated by a dystopian political system that builds a world on omnipresent surveillance, public manipulation, oppression, hatred, propaganda and "their sole motive, [which is] the quest for power" (Paul 215) . Due to the unconditional control the party has over Oceania, there is evidently a paucity of beauty, culture and history.
