My Final Grade

Professor Weaver,
I am writing in response to the grades given for ENG 113. I am concerned about the final grade you gave me and would like to express my feelings about the grade in hopes that you would reconsider.
I have always been taught to do my very best regardless of what it takes to succeed as long as it is within biblical standards. I have always looked forward to begin my college career toward one day becoming an Orthodontist. This has always been a dream of mine. We chose TFC as a launching pad because of the biblical standards the college upholds. Unfortunately, this experience has not been one that I would encourage my friends to encounter.
As the semester began, I enjoyed reading the feedback given because it lead me to a place of perfection in my writing skills. Everything seemed good and in a

Other students at our school enrolled in TFC had feedback from their professors to use to correct their papers. This seemed to help provide direction for developing their writing skills. I am sure if I had feedback, my final grade would have been much higher.
My total frustration comes from not having feedback for 5 weeks. During that time, I did email you a couple of times asking questions and I did get a response, thank you for that. My desire is to have a college career with a 4.0 and I am 5.45 points away from this. With feedback, I feel I could have increased my grade to the desired final grade of 94. With receiving 100’s for the article drafts, it is hard for me to gain an understanding of receiving a “C” on Article 1 & 2.
I am asking you to please reconsider your grading of this semester. Please understand my frustration without being angry with me. I just feel I need to express my concerns because if I had known the direction my grade was going, we could have worked together to meet your standards. I am sure you understand am I look forward to your

I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to review my letter of appeal. The sole purpose of this letter is to highlight the reasons behind my poor average this past academic year and the steps I am taking to make sure my average will be well above 60. Towards the end of October my grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer and became seriously ill as her body could not handle the chemotherapy. Over the next few months it worsened and she eventually passed away in February. Not being able to be there for my family during this unfortunate time period and imagining what both my parents, who work full time were going through made me even more stressed and depressed.…

I remember the first time I wrote an essay that was being graded at the college level. This was in my junior year when I took AP Language and Composition, our first essay was a rhetorical analysis essay from a very old excerpt that used old english and was very hard to read. When I first started reading the passage I started to get nervous because I didn't understand what the text was saying but then I started to annotate and the passage began to make sense. I found many rhetorical strategies that the author used and I then began to outline the essay in my head.…

Good morning, I am writing you today because I am concerned about my final grade. I was looking at my grade on blackboard, and my participation grade is 10 out of 10 points; instead of 20 out of 20 points; based on what the syllabus reads. Also, my finial paper is not graded on blackboard. On the syllabus, it says the course is out of 400 points total. I do not understand how my grades are added in blackboard.…

Writing was not a subject that held my interest in high school. Throughout the last twelve years I have found myself having to write letters, proposals, and business correspondence for my employers. I would complete the assignment and move on to the next task. Deciding to further my education I enrolled in Daytona State College and my first class was your ENC 1101. I have seen a change in my pre-class writing style; I have honed my skills, and the different techniques I have learned while taking this course have only improved my writing style.…

Over the last four essays, my ability to write has improved exponentially from the beginning of the year. Through the four essays I have learned valuable skills that will be the support for future essays. On the two beginning essays my ability to use vocabulary and other valuable skills was improving. By being supplied by information from the instructor, and fellow classmates I was able to spot my weaknesses in my writing and improve where improvement was needed. As the semester progress each essay improved upon the last as self reflection and reflection from others was used wisely.…

Firstly I would like to express my deepest apologies for the time scale for which I am submitting this appeal, unfortunately when I received my results for the assignment mentioned in the front side of the stage 1 from, I was left feeling rather discouraged. Thus, time was required to come to terms with the situation. As time passed I realised the possible valid grounds for appealing the current grade. Upon convening with my course leader (Carol Williams) I was advised upon the degree to which I hold a valid cause for appeal and steps to take.…

To be completely honest I have mixed feelings about writing and I don’t really have any memorable experiences that made me feel this way, it is just the experiences that I have had with the subject while trying to apply it. I struggle with what to write down mostly and creativity in general and I don’t really excel at any part of it. If I were to say I “excel” at anything it would be revising my work and adding to it. At the end of the semester I hope that I have relearned some key writing elements that lack of practice has caused me to lose.…

Final Exam: Self Evaluation Essay I personally can say that I have seen an improvement in my writing since my initial evaluation in the middle of the semester. During my first evaluation I was very confused with many of the general concepts the class held and it reflected in my writing. Answering the questions presented in the midterm evaluation and reviewing my first writing assignment Meta commentary pushed me to try to grasp a better understanding of assignments and ask for more helpful feedback that would benefit me in developing writing especially in the concept of methods and organization. Slowly and surely as the rest of the semester progressed forward I saw an improvement in my writing style and content.…

Every essay I have wrote I sent in to the writing center. They have truly helped me with breaking down my papers to make it easier for me to see what I have done wrong. For example, in my narrative essay they pointed out certain details that they felt needed to be added, like where they were staying and where was I going to go see them at. To me this was not details I thought were important, but they helped me to see that part of my story would have been confusing for my…
