Field Experience Report
I decided to go to a seventh grade class on two separate days, April 6th and April 7th to do my field experience observations. The four different classes I observed are part of a school that is located in the lower side of the county of Otsego, New York. The city where the school is located is also known as “City of Hills”. The location of the school is hard to describe because it is located in the middle of nowhere. It is hard notice the school because the entrance of the school is well hidden. At least for me it was hard to find because I needed to follow a trail to get to the school. The school is also located next to another school which is the city’s high school. From what I noticed the community did not seem bad

A student from each group got up to get a big piece of paper to write down the questions. The teacher announced that they will get have to split the work appropriately because they would be timed. There was four students in each group, before they started each of the students were deciding what task they would choose. Two of the students read the book, while another wrote the question down, and another student wrote down the answers. The questions on the board were 1. Describe the battle of Yorktown, 2. What are the actions of Washington and Rochambeau of Yorktown, 3. What are the actions of Cornwalls at Yorktown, and the last question was 4. Describe the surrender at Yorktown. While I was observing the first class, there was at least one student in each group that would reword the answers. One of the students were arguing over the actions of Washington in Yorktown. When I was watching them argue over the answer the first thing I thought about was the difference in their cognitive development. One of the students who was girl wanted to write more than what the book explained meanwhile the boy just wanted to copy down word by word from the book. When the two came across to an answer they agreed on and continued working with each

The school has one hundred and seventy-five children, from grades kindergarten through third (School Directory, 2015). Forty-six percent of the school is made up of Caucasian students. The student to teacher ratio is 14 to one (School Directory, 2015). The diversity in the school was neat to see. The elementary I attended was ninety percent white, so it was nice to see all the students from different backgrounds playing together.…

I arrived at Easton School District’s Forks Elementary School at around 8:45 a.m. that morning, a few minutes before the children were let in for class, to observe a 4th grade classroom. The instructor for the class, Mrs. Powell met with me in the main office to walk me down to her classroom. The first thing I saw when walking into the classroom was all of the different learning tools around the room, Mrs. Powell's use of both chalkboards for different objectives was just one, along with open reading areas. The classroom was set up into different 4 person groups, in which the students were able to work together and collaborate. When I was getting settled into the classroom around 9:00 a.m., the students began to arrive officially starting…

Fremont high school isn’t a common high school like the ones depicted in movies. Fremont high is merely a day prison for students. Students are caged by an eight-foot steel fence topped with spikes. These types of gates are rare on high school grounds, but are very common to prisons.
