My Feudal Lord is an autobiography of Tehmina Durrani highlighting her marriage with the famous political figure of Pakistan Ghulam Mustafa Khar also known as the “Lion of Punjab”. She openly talks about the fourteen years of emotional and physical abuse she endured in this marriage on the hands of Mustafa Khar . The political leader who may otherwise seem very charming and charismatic to the public of Pakistan is actually a sociopath revealed through Durrani’s book. This is also the time of Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto’s government which Khar supports. In his personal life he is a complete opposite of the charismatic personality that he portrays in the public. Her marriage with Mustafa Khar turns out to be nothing like he made her feel it would be – it is loveless and abusive where she goes through physical and sexual assaults regularly. 2) Law of Jungle – the period when they go to London in exile due to the military regime in Pakistan. She seems to have come to terms with the real nature of Mustafa in this part and gathers courage to file a divorce against him, but is discouraged by her own parents making her realize that not even her own family is supportive of her and fail to sympathize with her. 3) Lioness- Towards this part Durrani seems to be realizing her own capabilities and potential while campaigning in the country for Mustafa while he is jailed for political reasons. A sociopath is a person with a personality disorder who will lack both moral and self identity. This means such a person will not have a personality of their own and will change his or her entire personality if the situation calls for it. Some main characteristics of such a person are – Superficial charm and good intelligence , lack of remorse and shame, unreliability, absence of nervousness, poor judgment and failure to learn by experience, incapacity for love , pathological egocentricity – these characteristics prevail in a sociopath’s personality.
