Summer is filled with blue skies and warm weather which makes it a good time to relax and travel. So of course, just like every year it is time for me and my family to take our annual vacation. Our destination is always the beach. To be more specific Nags Head, North Carolina. We frequently visit Nags Head because it is convenient, just under two hours away. Nags Head is popular due to its beaches and sand dunes of Jockeys Ridge. The temperature typically will range from 80-95 in the summer months with a cool island breeze which makes it perfect for tanning and hanging out on the beach. Nags Head also offers many activities to take part in including shopping. And with its proximity to other islands and towns you have access to even more amenities …show more content…
While we do that my dad and brother go for a swim in the hotels pool. When you drive through Nags Head you will immediately notice there are more than several “Wings” stores. So of course, like every beach trip me and my mom must head there to pick up some OBX t-shirts and the usual knick knacks. We go to a couple of different places before going into a quaint beach shack. They have all sorts of unique items for sell, like sea glass jewelry in shades of blues and greens, driftwood sculptures, and sea turtle figurines made of sand. I could wonder around in amazement looking at the items on display all day. Places like that to me are hidden gems, they make a trip to the beach even more special. After a long day of shopping it is time for me and mother to head back to the hotel and eat some dinner. We all must get a good night’s rest because tomorrow we will rise out of bed bright and early and get prepared to spend our whole day out on the …show more content…
Me and my mom like to lay out and soak up some sun. The sun shines so bright but it is not nearly as hot as it would seem. I sit in my chair with my feet in the sand and just relax and let my senses take over. I feel the cool breeze and the grainy sand beneath my feet, I listen to the waves crashing and the seagulls flying overhead, I smell the saltiness of the water, and I look out into the deep blue waters and see boats on the horizon and all around me children are running up and down building sand castles in the sand. I rise from my chair and walk out into the hot sand and go on a little walk. On my walk, I look for seashells in all kinds of different shape, colors, and textures. Then I stand at the oceans edge and feel the cool water and sink into the wet sand. When the tide returns into the sea it feels as though they are trying to pull me with them, however they do not

Sun shining overhead, the sound of waves gently rushing ashore, the slightly salty smell of the ocean, and the feel of my toes in the sand – this was what I had been anxiously awaiting for weeks. Spring break in Florida was an amazing seven days!
