My Favorite Quote One of my favorite quotes is a quote written by William Shakespeare. The quote says, “All that glitters is not gold.” Although it is very short, it holds an excessive amount of deep meaning that is perceived differently and uniquely to each individual person. I believe this quote means that some things we may find extremely important in this moment may turn out to be not so important in the long run. Just because something may look really amazing or luxurious, doesn’t mean it always ends up turning out to be everything imagined. For example, someone’s life may seem perfect to you, but in reality that person could have an extremely difficult life. Someone could seem really put-together and still have a hard home life

What this quote means is that when you lose someone and you know they’re dead (grief) it may hurt for the time being, but it will eventually stop bleeding and stop hurting. When someone is lost and there’s the tiny hope that they may still be alive (hope) the wound never heals. It keeps bleeding and bleeding until you can find closure.…

“We’ve never lost an American in space and we’re sure as hell not gonna lose one on my watch! Failure is not an option!” Said by Gene Kranz on the movi Apollo 13, the ‘Failure is not an option’ phrase has been used by various action movies as a cliché which shows authority and badassery. Every character on this kind of movie says that failing on their specific job (or mission, if you really want to be that badass) is not what they are expecting. Fail this mission and you don’t exist on our lives, that’s it.…

“To be free, a man must be free of his brothers .” This quote is significant to Anthem because the brothers all just follow each other’s lead and they do not make any decisions for themselves. They are not able to pick what they do in their life or what they want to be. They are not really given the chance to think for themselves. The quote states To be free a man must be free of his brother, this is saying that if you take them all away from each other they are going to have to learn to do things on their own.…

Although the government has apologized to First Nations, "Sorry" is very easily said and wasn’t the most effective response. On June, 11, 2008 Stephen Harper apologized on behalf of Canada to all Aboriginals that had been through Residential Schools. Harper's apology wasn't enough, sorry is very easily said, it doesn’t change the fact that more than 150,000 children went through a tormenting childhood because of a decision the government and churches made over 100 years ago. The government did offer the survivors over $1.9 billion dollars with an additional $3,000-10,000 for any sexual and mental abuse they've suffered. But is money really going to fix everything you’ve been through, No.…
