Regardless of whether or not I connect to his character emotionally, I still do sympathize with what Finn was feeling when Sadie died or when his parents died. For this reason, is why I stated earlier on that Finn’s character had often brought me to tears because of the intense pain he was feeling after Sadie busted in to flames in front of him.
Furthermore, I believe that because of everything that Fin’s character experienced this novel would not function well without him. His character was the only one in the novel that was at first untouched by pain and as the novel progressed I got to see firsthand how that innocence can easily be taken away by losing the ones you love the most. Additionally, I believe his character was also a great example of sacrifice within the novel, like when Sadie sacrificed her life for Finn’s and when Finn choose to die to protect Morgan.
In conclusion, Finn is my favorite character not only because of the innocence he possessed, the way he loves, or his interest in vampires, but also because of the insight his character provided on how losing someone you love dearly can completely change you. The emotions he experienced were so very well depicted by Rowe that it was hard for me not sympathize with Finn throughout the
