My Father's Unconditioning Theory

Improved Essays
Someone who instilled passion within me was my dad. He instilled the love of the game for basketball. Lucky for me, he was my basketball coach growing up until I got to high school. One way he instilled passion into me during practices and games he would maximize pleasant unconditioned stimuli (pg. 96). Yes, he already does care about me since I am his daughter but he also cared for my other teammates as much as he cared for me. He wanted the best and wanted to help the player reach their fullest potential every day. The caring characteristic connects to the respondent conditioning theory because it is first starts as an unconditioned stimuli.
He literally started coaching me before I was even able to play before there was a league at my school

How am I to show this coach that I’m worth starting with such little time? I transferred to Apex Friendship second semester, my sophomore year right before the start of the lacrosse season. Every player had months of pre-season workouts to show the coach their skills while I had only two weeks to prove I was better than the players he had already been watching for months. I put in as much work that was possible by running fast, playing hard and smart. I needed this coach to see that I had the IQ as well as the ability to play at a higher level than the other guys.…
