This was unhealthy for me, and my mother disliked it, she removed him from her life, yet she did not want me to grow up without a father. To many it is a cult of animal sacrificing and devil worshipping, as my dad explained to me this is what he would do. Generally in Santeria, wearing white signifies a special state. Either that possession is expected, the person has been specially cleansed or blessed, or that they were recently initiated. Growing up, my dad went from normal to uncanny. He would not call, nor text, we would receive no letter on our birthdays or special holidays. When in school, we would have these “father daughter dances”, due to my fathers absent in my life, I would never be able to attend. I would constantly hear girls stating what they did with their dads and it would make me heartbroken knowing I could never do these types of things with mine. My sister was lucky considering we had our uncle, my uncle would take her to the “father daughter dance” or I would take her out on little dates to show her my love and attention. At the same time me and my sister were both lucky to be so blessed with a mother that can pull off being a mother and a father to both of her

My mom used to tell me in the old days they were more strict than today. Their parents don’t let them go out without any companion.
