Because they worked different hours they never saw each other much and I rarely saw much of my parents at the same time. The lack of time they spent together really took a toll on their marriage. My dad started staying out very late and eventually he stopped coming home all together. When he was home though we wished he would leave. He seemed to always be upset and would always argue and yell at all of us, including my mom. She put up with this for years but one day when i was in sixth grade she had finally had enough. I was in school when i was called down to the office. I grabbed my bag, said goodbye to my classmates and headed out. I was expecting it to be an impromptu trip to my aunts but when i walked out of school and i saw a Uhaul and my mom waiting there i knew this was something more.
