America is the land of opportunity and hope, and it sure was for my family. This country gave my family opportunity to succeed, helped us in times of complete financial hardships, opened our minds to new and different experiences, educated us in many ways, and helped us become who we are today. And this is the story how my family came to America.
For one to understand our story I have to start with my grandfather who started my family the path that got us where we are. My grandfather was born in a poor family with many siblings. He worked hard and educated himself enough to support his family. He was an employee for the state government in which he worked in various locations for many years starting as a clerk and working his way all the way up to Account supervising officer. He worked hard over a great amount of years to become successful and put my father and uncle through college.
My father is a hardworking and honest man who still lives his life with the same ideals, morals, and hopes he had when I first saw him. He was a great student who worked hard to get educated and become knowledgeable. He was the first person in my …show more content…
He says his first encounter when he landed was “Wow this is such a huge city with so less people.”1 He met with his employer there, and his employer sent him to New Mexico to work for a multinational company as a software engineer. He worked hard for months and finally got economically stable enough to get me and my mother to America. In this time apart from us he bought a car for us and got us an apartment where we could stay comfortably. When I first arrived in the country I was overwhelmed with joy of seeing my beloved father again and saw the American Dream. Life was progressing very well with my family, my new friends, and my adventurous trips with my parents. However, then in 2001 disaster struck and my father lost his job and was unemployed for a
