On page 319 in the book, it states, “By the time children are 11, they spend about one third of their free time with their siblings. This is where I learned to trust them and they became a major part in my life. My youngest sister and I are very close and we have always been protectors of one another. Both of my sisters have been counselors for me as well. Since I was little I have had someone to talk to. Also being a younger child, my older siblings have taught me to solve problems that I have in my life, how to steer away from trouble, and how to communicate with others. Altogether being one the youngest of the family and the middle child has taught me a lot and affected who I am today. This taught me not to judge others and always watch what I say. Holidays were also a big part of my family. Every year we celebrate the major holidays, like Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving together at my grandparents house. These celebrations usually consist of a big meal we all help prepare and then we spend time together around the table for supper. We share how our year is going and different stories. We also play games together once everything is all cleaned up. Another event that is important to my family is each year we have a family reunion for both sides of my family. On my mom 's side, we spend a weekend camping together. On my dad 's side we spend the day together at different places. Both of these events have taught me that family is always important and everyone in my family will support me throughout life. All of these beliefs and events help shape who I am
