A Narrative Essay About My Last Day In High School

I was 12 years old when my whole life was ripped from me. It was December 26th, 2009; my family and I were living in Florida. At the time my brothers were nine and three, and my sister was six. We were going on a two-week vacation to New York to visit family. That’s when I learned that nobody really likes to move. At least, I know I don’t.
It all started at 5:00 am on December 26th, 2009; my mom, my two brothers, my sister, and I were getting ready to go to the airport to catch a flight to New York. I remember being so tired on the way to the airport, my stepdad drove as my mom talked about how my siblings and I were all going to see snow for the first time. My family and I parked in front of the airport while getting our luggage ready. I stepped out of the air-conditioned car and the humid air hit me. Then we all walked into the main lobby area where there were a few other families saying their goodbyes. I thought it was just going to be a vacation, so I didn’t get emotional. I said goodbye to my stepdad and my mom, my siblings, and I went to get our tickets. Little did I know that would be my last time seeing my stepdad and Florida. My family and I went through TSA and went

My mom sat us all down to have a “family meeting”… we had no idea what this was about. My mom went on to say that we were staying in New York and we are starting school here in a week. My heart leaped into my throat, I was so upset. But, that wasn’t it. She proceeded to say that my sister had to live with my stepdad; but my two brothers and I were staying with her. My siblings and I all looked at my mom in disbelief. I was so angry with her. My siblings and I asked her a thousand questions all of which seemed to have the same answer, I don’t know. Then we all processed that, that was going to be our last night hanging out with our sister. We made the most of it. We sent my sister home to my stepdad the next

The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…

When you were little have you ever did something you weren’t supposed to, and lied about it so you won't get in trouble. Many of us had, I was in the second grade and it was a Halloween special day. I was in school with my friends, Oscar, Gabriel, and Andrew. My second teacher was teaching us math that day. After that class we had lunch, we were all waiting to go to the event, our heart thumping like drums.…

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

Most nights they would discuss their plan, but they also talked about other things. “I don’t really understand why you want to blow up the senatorial.” He knew that was where the elector’s cabinet got together and concurred on matters of the state. In high school my most outstanding example of a time when I set an example as a student leader was my sophomore year in high school. My sophomore year of high school I was brought up to the varsity soccer team, the team that I was on was not extremely hard working and or dedicated. As a sophomore I was afraid to stand up and verbally tell the entire team that we need to step it up, or we are going to have a horrible season, so I decided to make my statement apparent by my actions. First, I started by always being the first one to every practice, putting pressure on my other teammates to do the same, in result everyone started to arrive to practice earlier. The second step I took was difficult since I was one of the youngest players and the…

At only 7 years old, in August of 2005, I received the most devastating news anyone my age could have received. I was told by my family that a hurricane was coming to my city; New Orleans, Louisiana. Because of this storm, Hurricane Katrina, I was told that I would most likely have to move away for a long time; which meant the rest of my life. The hurricane ended up destroying the entire city completely. This was heartbreaking to me for a plethora of reasons, the main one being that I was so young and was just getting a taste of what the rest of my life had to offer.…

I've never been quite the athletic type. For as long i can remember, sports have never been my thing. I’d always been picked last or second to last, in PE. back then, my inner pre-teen self would “blame it on the baby weight” or that i hadn’t hit puberty yet. But deep down i knew it was it was because I had two left feet, one good eye, and butter fingers.…
