Faith can be an incredibly difficult thing to obtain. Some people can make religion look easy and find an everlasting peace in God, while others cannot experience this relationship. Looking at the Catholic background, there are countless pieces of evidence and scholarly people that back the stories of the bible as true. Even when looking at the available body of information that supports Catholicism, the entire belief resides on a foundation of faith. All the dogmas, doctrines, and disciplines that comprise the framework of the Catholic religion mean nothing without faith. Like most, I was first introduced to Catholicism through my parents when I was baby. I was baptized in the Church before I was one year old and have spent the remainder of …show more content…
I wanted a religion class that did more than just review the Church teachings. This class successfully did that, as it pushed me to dive deeper in my faith. I am more of a skeptic of my faith than ever, while I also feel better about my faith than I have ever before in high school. I never was satisfied with my faith before because I was unsure if I truly believed in what I was supporting. After this year, I have found more peace in my faith, even if that means that I question religion more. The booked showed historical facts and proved points about why to believe in Christ. In the end of the day, these pieces of evidence all lead to building a faith. One must believe without seeing to be faithful to Christ. This book showed me the power in coming to terms with faith. My understanding of why I believe in God and why I question some of the Catholic faith feels much more fulfilling then just simply believing. In questioning the book and my faith, I came to realize how I wish to live out th rest of my life. Simply put, I want to love others. That is all that matters in this world. A person can be any religion, race, sexuality, gender, or creed, but that does not matter. All that matters is that we respect each other and love our neighbors. That is a motivation for me to be Catholic. I want to live up to the standards of the Catholic Church. Jesus created a path for how to do this and I want to emulate his actions. When I have children, I plan to introduce them into the Church while they’re very young just as I was. It is not because I want them to follow in the same God as me or be a devoted disciple of Christ. It is just because I want them to be a good person and have strong morals, and faith enhances

What my husband's advancement to Chief Petty Officer means to me? The answer of that question could be 10 pages long or I could just resume what I feel in one word, "extremely proud", well I guess two words. I met Christian 16 years ago, he was full of energy, funny, and he had the ability to turn any sad or bad situation into a joke making everybody laugh; that is what make me fell in love with him. On the other hand, he was a little immature, unfocused when it comes to work, and nothing seemed to fulfill his expectations. I always knew that his passion was a career in the military, but that was out of question in my book!…

Having faith is something that many learn in the early stages of their lives. It is a trait that everyone should acquire as it helps shape one's personality and the way they act towards others. After reading Wiesel’s Night and Stienbeck’s Of Mice and Men and watching The Wave, the idea of obtaining the good of faith and about believing in your surrounding people is the most important message to be acquired because faith is an important quality that can teach people how to act better in general situations, and it can help people throughout their lives. If it is not learned the society we live in will be more mistrusting, and the youth of years to come will not be as comprehensive.…

Religious Response I have struggled with stories from the news of Catholic priests embroiled in child molestations and questioned my involvement or associating myself with an institution that not only denies some of the accusations but also hides the facts from the public. I sometimes ignore the stories thinking that hatred towards these evil people will stress me out to the point where I will leave the church completely for the lack of trust and deceptive tactics played on the congregation. What kind of person does this acts? What goes through their devious minds as they continue to practice their rituals and preach the gospel?…

I believe both a Christian counselor and a counselor who is Christian have much in common. The very basis for their understanding of the world is the same. However, both are very different in how their worldview shapes their therapy. The difference lies specifically in how their worldviews play out as they approach a client. As I worked through the major differences between these two approaches in therapy I was able to come to a conclusion of which fits best with my goals and personality.…

Reliquaries are the containers that store and display relics. Since the relics themselves were considered to be valuable spiritual objects it is appropriate that they be enshrined in vessels, or reliquaries, crafted of or covered by gold, silver, ivory, gems, and enamel. These precious objects constituted a major form of artistic production across Europe and Byzantium throughout the middle Ages. Reliquaries were also fashioned into full-body statues; the distinction between the meaning of an image such as the famous Reliquary Statue of Sainte-Foy, still preserved at the monastery of Conquest in France, and pagan idols was clearly articulated. By the end of the Middle Ages, image reliquaries, which traditionally were meant to suggest a saint's heavenly form and visage, came to mirror contemporary ideas of beauty.…

“Set your affections on things above; love one another; commune at the table of our Lord in one spirit; worship in spirit and in truth; and if daily adoring, imploring, and living the divine Life, Truth, Love, thou shalt partake of the bread that cometh down from heaven, drink of the cup of salvation, and be baptized in Spirit,” wrote Mary Baker Eddy in 1898 (Christian Science Versus Pantheism). Mrs. Eddy (as she is colloquially referred to by her followers) was the woman who came to found the Christian Science religion, based on the metaphysical New Thought movement, in 1879 (Christian Science, “What is Christian Science?”). For individuals who are born into the modern Christian Science church, understanding the concept of “divinity” in the…

This was an interesting class. There is a definite need and that need was expressed in that we need to pick up the level of conversation that we are having. The book mentions conversations that touch at the very fabric of humanity, something that is all encompassing, which if we are being honest religion fits perfectly. This discussion was started and we went around the room discussing our belief systems. It was all very generic, almost every person in the room stated that they believed in god and all of those who said they did came from the Christian persuasion.…
