My Experience with Writing Like most students on a college campus, I went to school before coming to NAU. In preschool I learned how to write my name. In first grade I learned how to write short stories. In middle school we moved onto reports and in high school we perfected the essay. Writing is something that a child learns when they are very young and they should never stop.
I remember writing short stories about me and my friends in elementary school. They were often only equivalent to a paragraph but we enjoyed writing them. We placed ourselves in stories with grand adventures in exotic locations. These stories stretched our imagination and helped us to expand our knowledge. Later in school we learned how write reports.
