From the beginning of the year till now, I have definitely grown not only as a student but as a human being. I have learned things about myself and others that has helped me understand who I am as a person. Through my experiences, I know there is much more for me to learn, and I can’t wait. The first assignment I did was the peer interview. For this, I found someone before class started and asked them if I could interview them. Little did I know, this person lived in my building and we would become friends. We now do homework together. I do believe that without this interview I would have probably never talked to him. In my learning team, I have definitely made lasting friendships. One of my friends I met was Ryley. We are now in Sigma Alpha, …show more content…
I learned that agricultural business is a hard major, but as long as I work at it, I will be able to conquer it. Another thing that I gained from the upperclassman interview is that agricultural business has great opportunities. I just have to make the best of my experience at Iowa State to full get what I need. Taking the academic policies and procedures, has made me aware of the many academic rules Iowa State has. I have learned how to search for them on the Iowa State website, and find an answer to almost any academic question I have. The academic policies quiz has definitely helped me understand the rules of the college and university. When I attended the Agricultural Business Club for the first time, I knew I was going to be involved with it for the rest of my years at Iowa State. The high quality atmosphere and positive attitudes the club has toward agricultural business made me feel at home. Being the top agricultural business club in the nation, the club does not …show more content…
My resume was up to par, and I had my elevator speech down. Because of this preparation, I received two interviews that were scheduled then and one interview that I would schedule at a later date. I had one job offer, and they gave me a deadline. I then talked to the company that I had yet to interview with. They called me back and offered me they job. I decided to take the job. This summer I will be interning at North Iowa Cooperative. I will be doing a combination of crop scouting, seed sales, and fertilizer work. Because of the preparation I did in class, I was able to be successful in my search for an internship. One of the final assignments I did was my four year plan. This assignment made me aware of all the requirements I need to graduate as an agricultural business major with animal science and agronomy minor. I feel prepared for the classes I have to take in the future, and I am confident that I will be able to graduate in four years. At the beginning of the semester I wish I knew exactly how to study for and take college tests. I wasn’t very good at studying at the beginning of the semester because I never really had to study in high school. If I were to do it over again, I would focus on what I needed to know I study that a

For the past year, I could only provide an indefinite answer to a frequently asked question, How was your freshman year? In fact, those of us who experienced our freshman year could be addressed as “college veterans” will never initiate a conversation with regard to the past year. Perhaps they consider that the freshman year was not as consummate as they initially planned. I cannot judge my first year in college was successful or frustrating, but I feel I benefited from the meritorious experiences and practical knowledge gained from my college life. In my opinion, no matter what goals one wishes to achieve in college, whether its grade, love, health, or sense of accomplishment, one has to be prepared for both failures and…

This semester has been a very difficult, stressful, and challenging for me . High School can not compare the amount of stress I had to face in this fall semester at Hostos Community College. However, it is like that with many other students because making a transition is frightening and many of us find a way to run away from it. Everything in life is a challenge and it is scary as well, but for those who want to study it all starts of with college. It took me more than words to actually realize the reality that I am actually living right at this very moment because, I was not expecting so many things to fall apart, but somehow becoming whole again.…
