There was a beautiful song that played that I knew like the back of my hand. The Little Mermaid all of a sudden appeared on a water screen in front of the pier. It was nothing I had ever seen before. The World of Color turned into a water show, much like the Bellagio in Las Vegas, but even more magical. For an entire hour, breathtaking waterspouts took flight in the air, soaring and forming into beautiful patterns. These water patterns synchronized with Disney’s best movies as well as my love with Disney’s movies. I remember it switching over from It’s a Bugs Life to Pocahontas. I started to feel tears swelling up in my eyes. The synesthesia of my favorite childhood movie, in Disneyland, on a beautiful display made entirely of water overwhelmed my senses. I reflected back on my life, remembering each time I watched each movie and thought about how great my life truly is. I walked away from that dazzling show, in utter awe and completely humbled. Nothing in my life has ever made me feel slightly the way I did that night. Who knew I could have had so much fun and learned so much from a theme park? I still envision the heart racing river run that reminded me to soak up and remember everything because life goes so fast just like the ride, the California Screamin’ haunting me and daring me not to ride although I did because it had never been more rewarding. Finally, remembering the humbling World of Color show that taught me to never grow up and remember where you came from. Although some could say it was just a trip to a theme park, to me it was a life changing experience that will be ingrained in my memory
