College Admissions Essay: The Benefits Of Going To College

Where has time gone by? In just a blink of an eye, my first semester as a freshman at California State University, Northridge or CSUN has come to an end. I still remember in the summer, I had a sensation thinking about going to college similarly back when I started my first year at my high school. It was a nervous, worry, and frightening feeling because it was about college. It was a huge strange place where I did not really know anyone nor anything. I had to start all over again by getting familiar with the buildings, the classes, and the people. I did get advices from older people saying I would be fine, and if I had an open mind going to college, I could meet many amazing people and open new doors for myself. After hearing that, it gave me a comfort also let me know college is full with opportunities. A couple of days prior the first semester began, I received emails from my professors about the syllabi. The vocabularies I used to use in high school thinking that they were formal, for example, nowadays, in the beginning of time, back in the days, and much more. In reality or in college writing level to be exact, those terms are considered vague and not academic. I have been trying to avoid using them and replace with direct statements. I have also been in a process of expanding my vocabulary, therefore, I can have a rich vocabulary.
It was an interested learning process for me this semester. Being in English 113A class, it has prepared me for college writing as well as college expectations in general. The writing skills that I have learned from this class will benefit to my future classes as I am sure that I will be writing many more essays for the rest of the college years. It was a delightful experience thanked to Professor Glover and Naz. They were able to make English, a pretty dreadful subject for a large number of students, enjoyable and
