My experience in EN105 has been one that has fundamentally transformed my understanding and perspective of writing. Furthermore, I feel like I have accomplished a significant amount, and as the semester comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on what I 've learned. Throughout the duration of the course I have successfully applied the fundamentals of writing in an attempt to create precise and articulate sentences that communicate my message with clarity. After countless hours of writing, revising and editing I’m more familiar with what’s required to be an effective writer and wordsmith.
Numerous writing assignments, discussion topics and peer responses have all required me to write more frequently, which has resulted in the complete betterment of my writing capabilities. The old adage “practice makes perfect” truly defines my experience within the course because unknowingly with every assignment submitted, my writing skills undoubtedly improved. At the beginning of the course I felt discouraged and disheartened because I was instructed to reflect upon my past writing experiences. However, I maintained a positive outlook and attitude towards EN105 and I 'm very pleased that I did not give up on myself. Remaining persistent and becoming obsessed with the idea of further developing my writing proficiency, has helped me to achieve much better results with critical thinking and writing. EN105 held me to a higher standard and required me to write much more than I expected and now as I reflect on the numerous writing assignments, discussion topics and peer responses that I submitted throughout the course, I without a doubt can say that they all contributed to the development of my writing skills.
