Essay On Observation In Special Education

I have learned so much for my 30 hours of observation, and believe it will make me a better educator in the future. Doing my observation in the various classrooms really helped me observe different ways of handling tense situations. Some of the ways I will definitely implement while other ways were more of example of what not to do. These 30 hours really drove home the fact that every student is unique and that uniqueness should be addressed in a way that is fitting to them. Every student needs a teacher that will observe them and make a plan that is best fitting to them. This requires a lot of time and effort from the teacher, but it is most beneficial to the student. As I progress in my field I hope to learn more and gain a greater appreciation of special education and the different people that reside in. For me it was interesting to be a former student of special education and see it from an educator’s point of view. For much of my observation I saw many flashbacks to my younger years of being a student in special education and how the teachers handled me in similar situations as the students I was observing. Sometimes I saw the students receive identical education strategies that were provided to me while other times I saw ways that were far better and I wish I had received. It is these better education strategies that I hope to you someday in my classroom. These observation hours have provided me with a strong foundation on how to become an inclusive
