This experience also left a lasting impression on me. I was with my dad, and we went too little Caesar’s to get a pizza for dinner. As we were leaving, there was a group of homeless people that asked us for some change, which we happily gave to them. Then one of the employees came outside with boxes upon boxes of pizzas and wings to throw out to the dumpster. The poor homeless folks begged the employee to please just give them the food instead of throwing it away. They expressed how they would be so grateful if he could just give it to them. The employee refused them and told them he had to throw it away. As I watched this situation I thought to be ridiculpusly insane and unsensable, I was just thinking to myself, “what’s the big deal? Why can’t he just give the homeless people the food instead of throwing it away and letting it go to waste.” This was very perplexing to me, and I wondered how he could be so heartless, as I watched the scene play out. The employee winded up throwing all of the left over food away, and stated, that he was sorry, but it’s just protocol. The homeless folks who were starving, cursed the man out for not sharing, then hopped in the trash bin and got the food. They had a nice feast off of what was to be considered garbage.
