My Experience Of Homeless People In Las Vegas

When I saw a homeless person on the streets in Las Vegas, I sat next to him and initiated a conversation. Imagine having nothing to work with. No home, no food, no education. Most of you reading this essay, have never experienced this. I myself have never experienced it either but what I do know is that everybody likes to be recognized in their own way. Some people want to be the center of everything. They want the spotlight in the world, and some people just want to be noticed. Whether that means a full conversation or a simple “hello.” I had just went shopping in Las Vegas with my brother and his friend. I bought 100$ dollars worth of clothes, food, toys, etc. this day felt like the best day of my life until I came across a man wearing a small t-shirt which looks like belongs on a 4 year old and very filthy sweatpants. He looked like he hasn't taken a shower in months. The man was just laying on the side of the bridge holding a sign that was barely visible and it said “anything helps. I want to be happy.” I have always been very hesitant when giving money to the homeless because I did not know what they would use it on, the thing …show more content…
I finally approached him and said, “Hello, how are you?” All I received were eyes filled with tears streaming down his face. I was confused and upset because I didn't know if I did something wrong. I started to notice a tiny grin blossoming on his face. I then knew that he was happy, not upset or mad. “It is so nice to be spoken to again.” The man said while sobbing with happiness. Once I started walking away, the man and I were both happy with smiles on our faces. My brothers friend grabbed me by the arm and pointed to the bag of clothes in it. I reached inside the bag and grabbed a nice green t-shirt and very nice jeans. I handed the man the shirt and pants. He was in shock once again and thanking me
